Your legs contain some of the biggest muscles in your body. You’ll burn more calories if you work them hard in your routines. The BAMmetrics squat jumps are a great way to get there. The higher you jump, the more calories you burn. You can also remove the jump and do a traditional squat for a low-impact version.
- Stand facing the stairs with your feet hip-width apart or a little bit wider. Pull your core toward your spine.
- Looking straight ahead, bend at both the hips and knees, squatting about halfway down with your knees bent at about 45 degrees. Make sure that your knees remain in line with your toes and keep your back between a 45- to 90-degree angle to your hips.
- Swing your arms up and push through your feet to jump as high as you can. Land lightly in a squat position.
- This counts as one rep.
